Utah is fortunate to have a strong military presence supported by a warm and generous community. In the most recent BRAC (Basement Realignment and Closure) round, the Utah Congressional delegation worked very hard to highlight the work that Hill AFB provides to our nation and I am thankful that the BRAC Commission recognized and values the base. During the continued BRAC procedures, I work diligently with military personnel, civilian personnel, and the delegation to continue to highlight the importance of Hill AFB.

We have many veterans in Utah and they deserve not only our gratitude but our support. Other states, with fewer veterans have often received more funding than the State of Utah and I would like to see this issue addressed. I am working towards an open dialogue with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and for passage of legislation to provide the support our veterans, both present and future, so clearly deserve.
